Our Story
You might say AK Jewelers started as a “Mom & Pop Shop”. After all, Mom and Dad opened the doors of our original storefront on Folsom Boulevard in 1976. They worked hard to build Sacramento’s trust, but also had plenty of parenting to do as each of their four kids came along. Over the years, each of the kids grew up in the store—learning about gems, jewelry, and how to treat a customer.
Walk in the store today and you’ll still find a member of our family behind the counter, doing their best to serve you.

A Brief History Lesson
The name AK Jewelers comes from our dad—Arcadio Kozycz—who began his journey as a jeweler while training in a South American watch making school from 1960-1962.
After completing watch making school, Arcadio moved to Sacramento, CA where he served as an apprentice to two highly skilled jewelers. He developed new expertise and skills in a variety of places over the years that followed, serving H. Horwitz and Co. in Chicago, IL as a watchmaker and shop manager, and then the Dave Downey Co. as a traveling diamond setter across the Western U.S.
In September of 1976, Arcadio Kozycz took his leap of faith and opened his own wholesale trade shop in Sacramento. In which he employed 12 jewelers. AK Jewelers was responsible for 80% of the wholesale repair work for other jewelers and department stores in town—while at the same time building his own loyal customer base.
Today, AK Jewelers continues on as a Sacramento landmark for quality jewelry sales, repair and design. As the next generation of the Kozycz family now runs the store, they have the privilege of serving multiple generations of repeat customers.
Why do our customers keep coming back? They tell us they love our service, honesty and dependability. We strive to meet our customers’ needs, whatever they may be. We want them to love their jewelry so that they can’t help but tell others about us.
“My family and I have been going to AK Jewelers for over 40+ years. We have always loved the people who work there and all the jewelry we have purchased over the years. We even continue going there even after we moved to Oregon state.”
